It’s been a very busy few months here. Lots of painting, collage making, and especially stitching. All of this is in preparation for a solo exhibition at the Chrissie Cotter Gallery in Camperdown, at the end of August.
This exhibition will be a celebration of the vivid colour and texture found in nature. From intricately detailed embroidery pieces, brightly coloured collages and bold floral paintings, it will be an explosion of colour and sparkles.
Each embroidery piece is hand made, and features beautiful texture, colour, and crystals and gemstones. There will be pieces to hand on your wall, and small intricate amulets to wear.
My amulets are intended to be touched, and each one has been made with the specific properties of the natural crystals and gemstones in mind.
For those who wish to explore their interest in embroidery further, I’m hosting a workshop that runs over two consecutive Saturdays, where you can enjoy the gallery space, have a nice morning tea, and make your very own jewelled embroidery piece to take home. Tickets are available here
Details of opening, gallery hours, and Afternoon drinks with the artist (me!) will be released soon, so stay tuned!
